MSU Choir Norway 19 – Day 10

May 23, 2019

Today was filled with museums and guided tours around Oslo. Our guide was fabulous and led us on a 4-hour tour of the Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Viking Ship Museum and the Norwegian Folk Museum, home of the Gol Stave church (a replica of which is found at the Scandinavian Heritage Park in Minot). Check out the slideshow below:

Then we were fortunate to be a able to visit Stortinget (Norwegian parliament). We were met by parliament member Bård Hoksrud from the Progressive party, and then had lunch. All of this was facilitated by our beloved Rolf Haugen who was also able to have us meet a very popular Norwegian politician, Sylvi Listhaug (Progress Party), the minister for the Elderly and Public Health.

We also met up with Dr. Eric Furuseth, who accompanied us in the Parliament building, and then later to the Oslo Philharmonic concert! The Philharmonic was absolutely brilliant, this was the program:

Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov Russian Easter Festival Overture

Maurice Ravel Shéhérazade

Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov Capriccio Espagnol

Ottorino Respighi Feste Romane

Vasily Petrenko conductor

Veronique Gens soprano
